Thomastown
Sunday Worship
Thomastown Lutheran Church is the oldest operating Lutheran Church in Australia.
The church is small with 6 pews on either side of the aisle, and the congregation is small (18 members). Weddings and baptisms are still conducted in the church occasionally.
Thomastown Lutheran Church was built in 1856 from basalt rock (bluestone) quarried from the nearby land by the early German pioneer settlers, who had settled on farms in the area.

The Church sits on 10 acres of land with the cemetary in the corner of Gardenia Road and German Lane (previously Rosedale Drive). Many pioneers are buried in the cemetery.

After the Service
This is followed by soup and bread outside the church.
